The Romans Return To The Army Community

UNKNOWN TERRITORY, Roman Empire  After leaving the community for a season, the Romans have announced their plans to open their gates once more. How far will they go this time?

-The Romans were originally created in October of 2006 by Explorer7777. They remained in the community for several years with many reopenings and collapses until Club Penguin shut down in 2017. Their most recent closure was in April 2020, but after a break, they announced a re-opening on July 27th, 2020.

Roman’s Empire officially reopened on July 28th, 2020 under the leadership of Dino, PINK, and Games. Although Dino and Games plan a temporary leadership, the Romans are leading off strong. Their launching event took place on Club Penguin Rewritten with a max of 11, already larger than their most recent generation.

CP Army Hub was able to speak to one of the current leaders, Dino, with his thoughts on the recent revival of The Romans.

How do you feel about the recent return of the Romans?

I feel excited. Romans have such a rich culture. While we may have a history of tough maxes, and edginess, I don’t think of those negatively. In fact, we’ve developed a family-like culture in our past gen. The fact that people who I remember recruiting from February are coming back brings joy to me. Romans ain’t here to conquer armies. We’re here to have a good time and have fun.

What do you see in the future of the Romans?

I can’t really predict. On one hand, with multiple recent power vacuums in the community and sudden spikes, I think we can milk what’s left of this shutdown and peak at 20 (maybe even 25+).
I don’t really care about the maxes though. I don’t want us to max shitty like in early March, but I don’t want us to only care about the numbers.

I definitely can see us picking up some territories along the way, and potentially doing well in future S/M tournaments. But really we’re here to bring back the true family aspect to armies and not make previous mistakes so the old gen (i.e. suck up to other armies)

As the Romans Legate are there any changes you would like to add to the Romans?

Definitely. Something we were unable to do the last generation due to some infightings was “Project Arcadia”. Headed by our former leader Ulysses Nardo (Lynx), Arcadia is meant to expand Romans outside of Club Penguin. Not really forming another Byzantium Gaming, but for Roman vets, visitors, and even current members to take part in if they get bored of Club Penguin but still want to remind apart of our family.

Another thing is some administrative overhaul. Something me and Cobra has been wanting to do is make a formal Romans history page and Hall of Fame. Hopefully this generation we can actually make this work. It’s unfortunate any people don’t know what og Romans were like. While insignificant in size, Romans still exist as a pretty interesting figure in the community. People should be able to learn about them more.

Finally, I want to be able to unite all of the Roman veterancy under one server, one banner again. We haven’t really had a unified vet community for a long time. So I plan on implementing some changes to revolve Romans and be able to strengthen the family.
Other things I and the Romans staff plan on making are hosting community events, develop a mix of both youthful and mature audiences, raking in new blood, and finally do some mini administrative overhauls to make the place better overall.

From the interview, it’s clear that the Roman’s are eager to be back in the community. The leaders are working hard and seem energetic for the modern generation. They already have plans to make changes in the Roman Empire and expand. CPAH wishes the best for the Roman’s new generation.
